Focus give you total control of notifications you receive and apps you see. Power users can customize it to their heart’s content, but most of us just want to block out unwanted notifications at certain times.
Make Sense of Focus
In the beginning, there was only Do Not Disturb, which blocks all notifications until you say otherwise. Focus is an extension of Do Not Disturb.
Focus lets you create multiple custom Do Not Disturb modes, with each one allowing different apps and contacts to send you notifications while excluding the rest. You can also configure a Focus such that other people are alerted when you’re unavailable.
