It’s considered that a person’s childhood experiences often contribute to their style of communication in later life. If you were raised in a family where talking was like debating, then your linguistic style may be different to someone who grew up in an atmosphere where talk was more about describing experiences, etc.

Words are stimuli – therefore they provoke a reaction or response.

Words use us as much as we use words. In the way that our choice of words is determined by the thoughts that we wish to convey, so also is the way that we feel about things responsible for the word choice we make, to express ourselves about these things.
