Chapter 5Paving a Path to Readialand
In Readialand, the Kevan Millers of the world would flourish. Educators would teach children to read and write using tools of all kinds while also teaching children to think critically about media created with those tools. Families and educators alike would be able to tap into resources and networks for making good choices about what best meets their needs. In short: creating this ecosystem will not necessarily require buying crates of touchscreen tablets for Head Start Centers and schools or loading up on electronic toys for the home.
