CHAPTER 4

Working with Meeting Audio

Zoom offers a number of features and tools for working with the audio portion of a meeting. For example, you can test the microphone and speakers you want to use in a meeting. You can also choose a different microphone or speakers, mute and unmute your audio, use push-to-talk, and suppress background noises.

Test Your Audio Devices

To get the most out of a Zoom meeting, you should test your audio devices to make sure they are working optimally. By far the most common cause of Zoom problems is a faulty audio setup. This could be a speaker not connected or a microphone on mute. You can prevent such problems by testing your audio devices to make sure they are working.

You can test your audio devices at any time using the Settings dialog of the Zoom desktop app. You can also test your audio devices just before joining a meeting.
