Entourage asks you to confirm
that you want to open the file.
4 Click Open.
The file opens in the appropriate
program.
Note: Instead of opening the file, Mac OS X may
display a dialog box telling you that the file does
not have a program associated with it. This means
you need to install the appropriate program for the
type of file. If you are not sure, ask the person
who sent you the file what program you need.

Attachment symbol ( ).

attached, you can open the attachment to
view the contents of the file. You can also
save the attachment as a file on your
computer.
Be careful when dealing with attached files. Computer
viruses are often transmitted by e-mail attachments.

What should I do if I suspect an attachment contains a virus or other
malware?
In most cases, Entourage detects unsafe files, and when you display a
message with such a file, you should see a message saying “Entourage
has blocked the following potentially unsafe attachments.” Click Remove
them to delete the attachment(s).
If you believe that an attached file may be unsafe, but Entourage has not
blocked the file, you should delete the message. However, before you do
that it is a good idea to delete the attached file from the message. Click
the message, click the attachment in the preview pane, and then click
Remove. When Entourage asks you to confirm, click Delete.
