The After-Action Review

Teachers improve not only by being conscious of what’s taking place in their classrooms in real time but by reflecting on what took place. It’s a question of sifting the gold from the stream of consciousness. To that end, I’m going to share my stream of thoughts after I leave the classroom. As you’ll see, it’s a crowded stream.

After Class

As the period ends, I begin to feel good about the overall ebb and flow of the class session. Collectively, we made progress in the learning process, but why do I feel good about it? What’s the evidence that it was a good class, other than that it’s over?
