On global teams it is clearly more difficult to develop trust quickly, because team members have limited opportunity to interact on a face-to-face basis. In addition, since most global teams are also multi-cultural, trust building becomes more challenging because people from some cultures are less likely to engage in open communication, especially when the conversation includes discussing problems in public or admitting mistakes.
