Technical Brief represents a contemporary history of theatre technology — a field in which developments are only rarely documented and even more rarely communicated. The ideas it contains are those of the field’s practitioners. We congratulate those authors — those who were shanghaied into writing as well as those who volunteered submissions — on the publication of their individual efforts in a milestone collection.
