Automatic Drop Tripping

For a production of As You Like It at Mount Holyoke College, the technical staff was asked to fly and trip a scrim rapidly and in the dark. Clearly, life would be simpler if the movement of the counterweight arbor could be made to trip the bottom of the scrim at twice the speed of the top of the scrim. The double purchase principle came to mind with the thought of a 2:l ratio.
