Plastic Glides: A Second Look |
Mr. Edmund Fisher’s Technical Briefarticle, “Comparing Four Plastics as Scenery Glides” inspired the technical staff at Wilkes College to try plastic glides. At our local plastics distributor’s suggestion, we used ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) in place of Mr. Fisher’s “clear winner,” Delrin®. The UHMWPE glides worked so well for us that they warranted further scrutiny. This article reports the results of our investigations.
