Stoneham Theatre’s 2002 production of A Christmas Carol incorporated a trap approximately 3’ square in the stage floor, through which an actor needed to disappear quickly. The actor, who was inside a 10′-tall “Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come” puppet, would place himself upstage of the center of the trap, which would open in front of him under the control of a stagehand in the traproom.
