Job Description: Backstage Lab Student

The Backstage Lab Student or Volunteer assists the Master Carpenter (MC), and other crew heads in the scene studio in the fabrication of scenery, props, etc.

Duties during the Planning Period:

1. Become familiar with the production concept (and script, if possible).
2. Familiarize yourself with the shop facility and tools. Know where materials and stock items are kept.
3. Sign-in and sign-out at all work sessions on the Backstage Lab attendance sheet by reporting to the TA in charge of the lab. It is necessary to keep track of hours spent on all projects for the purpose of refining future time estimations.
