Emotional Intelligence in Technical Program Management
Since the first edition of this book was written, our world has evolved quickly, with the sudden spike in generative artificial intelligence, or GenAI. This has led to many people contemplating what this means for their jobs. Although some will most certainly be replaced by GenAI or simply made irrelevant, I do not see this as the case for technical program managers. However, it will change what encompasses our day-to-day work, and this comes with an increased emphasis on the aspects of our job that GenAI cannot replicate, which are our soft skills, chief among which is our emotional intelligence.
