Objectives of the Chapter

In Chapter 12 we discussed the design and implementation of inferential controllers. In this chapter we discuss how to incorporate these concepts in a MPC framework. Topics discussed include

  • Inferential MPC algorithm.

  • Steady-state estimator development using steady-state data.

  • Dynamic estimators using time series data.

  • Nonlinear estimators using artificial neural networks.
