You've undoubtedly realized at this stage in the game that very little of what we're building is novel. In just a couple of decades, the Internet has done a pretty solid job of collecting most of humanity's written information. Jazz artists, albums, and tracks are represented in several systems, some of which are already integrated. In the interest of not reinventing the wheel (and avoiding a lot of data entry), we should find a preexisting database that can get us this baseline data.
