2 Agile vs. Traditional Approaches
This chapter provides overviews of the Scrum agile project management framework and the popular Kanban project management methodology. Kanban was developed from lean production theory and shows some similarities to Scrum. We will compare both methodologies with traditional process models. If you are involved in managing a project or department-wide switch to agile working methods, this chapter will give you an overview of the organizational changes that are necessary on company, department and project team levels. If you are already familiar with the workings of Scrum and/or Kanban, you can skip this chapter.
