I.1 Origin of the Term “Project”
The word “project” has its roots in the Latin word projectum and Latin verb pro-
icere. Proicere means “to throw something forward.” Originally, the term project
meant “something that comes before anything else happens.” The modern defini-
tion of project is “a temporary endeavor to create a unique product, service or a
result.”
