A Rocky Start
The first time I assisted Rocky, he told me to meet him at his home in Van Nuys and we would go to the wedding from there.
I arrived at his home, which was a surprisingly modest place, about a thousand square feet, in a not-so-nice neighborhood. I was shocked, as the magazine article had said he was a world-famous wedding photographer with a million-dollar-a-year business.
When I later learned about his business model, it made more sense. He ran a low-price, high-volume operation, sort of the opposite of what you’d expect in this line of work.
