Now, you’ve probably heard the photographic term “light painting,” which is when you shoot a very long exposure (usually late at night, while shooting the night sky or Milky Way) and you use a low-powered flashlight to gently sweep over the foreground with just a kiss of light, so the rocks (or lake or abandoned plane, if you’re in Iceland) get a hint of light on them.
