We wrote the IVK story to be representative, in essence if not in detail, of the experiences of many companies as they struggle to manage rapidly emerging IT-based challenges and capabilities. Jim Barton’s odyssey represents, albeit in compressed form, the journey of IT managers as they strive to lead their companies’ efforts in this area.
