Chapter 7: Time Out

Luke used Skype, an Internet communication tool, to stay in touch with his sales teams and leaders. Since the 9/11 terrorist attack, when travel had became not only much more expensive but also more frustrating and time-consuming due to increased security protocols, Luke’s company had been using Skype with great success. On Tuesday morning, following Luke’s meeting with Allison, he scheduled a meeting with Scott to discuss their situation. Scott looked somber.

After they’d said “Hey,” Luke got right to the point. “Look, I’d like to finish our conversation from a couple of days ago.”

“OK,” Scott said.

“So, first I have to say a few words and then will want your honest response. Is that OK?
