On 27 February 2021, Australia’s Loyal Wingman military aircraft hinted at the possibility of fully autonomous flight at Woomera Range Complex in South Australia (Insinna 2021; Royal Australian Air Force 2021). With no human on board, the plane used a pre-programmed route with remote supervision to undertake and complete its mission.
