A CEO MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN AND HELL
In December 2014, I became the CEO of a publicly traded healthcare company based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, called Amedisys. At the time I was 53, and it was my first CEO job, pretty late by most standards.
I got the job because basically no potential CEOs worth their salt would take the position. The company was on the brink, toxic, and a real mess. Prior to my hiring, the board tried to give the company away for a song to one of our largest competitors. They refused the offer.
