In writing this book, I've spent a lot of time thinking about all the advice I've gotten over the years – not just about matchmove, but about the whole field of visual effects. In fact, I've worked with amazing people, all of whom – to a person – have been willing, even eager, to help someone with a question, a sticky problem, or something they might just be curious about. I tell my students that working in this industry is like going to grad school every day, and so it is – in a good way.
