How to Draw a Circle
Set up your drawing station with a fresh sheet of paper. Pick up your pencil, preferably using the overhand grip, which I recommend. Place your hand over the center of the paper hovering just above the surface. Lock your fingers and wrist but keep your elbow soft. Rotating from the shoulder, pantomime the shape of a circle, continuously moving your hand around and around. Right now, you are just pantomiming the shape of a circle above the surface of the paper, not actually drawing the shape. The pantomimed circle should be approximately the size of an orange. Although it’s best to keep your hand lifted entirely from the paper, if you touch it slightly for support, that’s okay.
