Vertical and Horizontal Alignment
Proportional measuring is by far the most common measuring technique, but it is not the only one. You can also look for vertical and horizontal alignments in your subject. For example, here we can see that the right edge of the cup handle, where it connects at the top of the cup, is directly above the left edge of where the handle connects at the bottom of the cup. These two points are vertically aligned. This is useful information.
