Despite everything that Sun Tzu wrote about securing victory in battle, he recognised that there are no certainties in war, even for a ‘good fighter’. Similarly, we need to remember that there are no guarantees with cyber security and data protection. There is no such thing as ‘100% secure’, and anyone who tells you differently is lying. This is something I tell my clients all the time.

No amount of policies, firewalls, malware protection, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and training and awareness will give you 100% security; it simply doesn’t exist.
