STEP #6: DECIDE IF YOUR BOOK’S CONTENT MATCHES YOUR INITIAL VISION

Goal: Create a chapter-by-chapter synopsis (fiction, nonfiction and/or memoir) based on your TOC—and/or write a full synopsis (fiction)—and compile your writing guide before beginning to write.

Giving Your Book Form and Life

1. Exercise: Create a chapter-by-chapter synopsis based on your TOC. Write a brief (no longer than one page) description of each chapter you named in your TOC in Step #5. This will give you the detailed directions you need to follow the map you created with your TOC so you know exactly what content you must produce when the time comes to write your book.
