Chapter . Madoff’s Mistakes
On June 29, 2009 well-respected and influential stockbroker Bernard Madoff was sentenced to 150 years in federal prison for bilking investors of an estimated $65 billion. Madoff was found guilty on charges of money laundering, perjury, and three types of fraud in the biggest Ponzi scheme in history. Those who knew him personally were shocked by the charges as Madoff perpetuated the image of a hard working family man with good values –the cartoonists saw him as a monster, headed straight to Hell.
