It’s usually not exciting. It’s not as sexy as inventing a new AI technology. And it’s hard. But being good at brawny capabilities is increasingly becoming a required competency for all organizations, whether they have a digitally native DNA or not.
In this section we will look at the importance of logistics (the spine), how making things is changing from the past but is still a crucial attribute (hands), operating at scale in a global world (muscles), driving and managing an ecosystem (hand-eye coordination), and sustaining a reputation and brand over time (stamina). Once again, in each chapter we will look at companies that have wrestled with, and often excelled at, each of these physical attributes.
