game plan n. 1. Strategy or approach to achieve a desired result. 2. A carefully thought-out course of action.

BS Definition: What goes out the window right after your potential client says, “I hate all those ideas. What else you got?”

Origin: Merriam-Webster says the first known use of game plan was in 1941.1 However, we couldn’t find the exact reference, so we devised a game plan to figure it out. We checked with Collins Dictionary, and it gave us a bar chart that suggested the first reference of game plan was in 1816, but didn’t really start trending upward in usage until around 1970. However, again, no specific citations to work with.
