Acknowledgments

Consider for a minute all the people who get into the act when somebody publishes a book. If you include everyone whose ideas and actions led to the thinking embodied in the book, everyone who directly influences the way the material in the book is organized and the way the message is articulated, plus all the folks who have a hand in designing, producing, distributing, promoting, and reviewing the book … well, there’s virtually no end to it, is there? It doesn’t take a village. It takes a metropolis.

That’s why we’re not going to attempt to list here the names of every person who has helped us with this project. Some people, though, contributed in very significant ways, and we would be remiss if we didn’t credit them.
