As noted earlier, many of the key definitions of terms and phrases are found in section 1798.140 of the CCPA. Much like the definition of “business,” the terms defined in section 140 may have novel interpretations requiring careful analysis to understand how they apply to organizations.

Personal information

To start, it should be noted that the CCPA’s definition of covered “personal information” encompasses a wide range of technological data markers.
