HOW TO ANALYZE DECISION SCENARIO CASES

The most common type of core scenario you’ll encounter in cases is a decision. The first part of this chapter will define the unique characteristics of a decision analysis and the second will walk you through an analysis of a complete case, using the elements and the questions described in chapter 3.

The analysis of a decision scenario has six distinct elements:

  • Identification of the required decision
  • Review or identification of options
  • Criteria selection
  • Criteria-based analysis
  • Recommended decision
  • Proposed actions

Your professors probably will not discuss a decision scenario case by asking questions about the six elements. They will have their own way of facilitating the discussion. Nevertheless, ...
