Chapter 4 IS-2000 Physical Layer
The physical layer protocol, specified in IS-2000 [1], represents the lowest layer of the cdma2000 protocol stack and defines the mobile station and base station interoperability procedures over the air interface or Um reference point. The physical layer protocol specifies the physical channels baseband processing requirements for the following functions: power-control, encoding for error correction and detection, interleaving, modulation, scrambling, orthogonal spreading, and quadrate spreading with or without transmit diversity.
