I started painting in 1987 after the birth of my daughter. As soon as the babies had gone to bed, I would run to my easel in the dining room and spend hours painting still life paintings and landscapes with oils. Two mornings a week, I took art classes at the Dubai Art Center. A year later, the third baby came into our lives. Soon after the delivery, I returned to work in a bank. I put away the canvases and brushes. My recently started artistic career was put on hold.

Thirty years later, in the fall of 2017, with all three children in new nests and pondering my next steps in the journey of life, I found myself applying for a Color of Woman certification. In those pre-COVID days, ...
