Introduction

There is a rift in how conservation is thought about and consequently practiced when we follow the discourse from global to local concepts. Rather than simply following a linear devolution of the hegemonic discourse from the global to the local spaces of conservation, as in an Agrawalian environmentality approach (Agrawal 2005), the conundrum of deciphering the actual complexities of discoursive interlinkages needs another way of being dealt with.
