BASIC HEADS

The proportions of this young foal are slightly different from those of the adult horse on the opposite page. It is also shown at a slight three-quarter angle.

In steps A and B, start with three basic guideline strokes to establish the size and shape of the head. The strokes are numbered to enable you to see the first stroke while you make the second, ensuring that your proportions are accurate. Follow the right- or left-handed approach, as applicable.
