COLOR CUES AND CLUES
Rarely used in isolation, colors are most frequently combined. The most successful color combinations are those that contain visual cues for the viewer that help to spark a specific response and can best express the messaging, intention, mood, or ambiance of the project.
So that the purpose of the colors is well defined, proper proportion is important. A rank order of dominant, subordinate, and accent colors is visually understood and maintains the importance of the main color.
