Perusing the Android Market, apps vary dramatically in complexity. Google’s Shopper app sits at one end of the spectrum: a single text box and a camera icon on a plain white backdrop. Take a picture of a barcode, and you get comparison shopping results in an itemized list. At the other end of the spectrum, the Layer app takes a live video stream from the Android camera and overlays Wikipedia articles, Twitter feeds, and classified ads using GPS to find the relevant data to your location.
