Glossary
alpha test The first phase of checking a software product or website, usually private and launched on a smaller, controlled scale.
asynchronous Not happening at the same time. Most crowdsourcing happens asynchronously, meaning your activities and the crowd’s activities are not happening simultaneously.
beta test The second phase of checking a product such as software or a website. This occurs after the alpha phase, during which paid or unpaid testers check the product for errors, bugs, and other issues.
bounty A payment made by one party to another party. In crowdsourcing, a bounty may be referred to as a prize, award, reward, tip, fee, payment, or compensation.
