In this chapter, we’ll summarize the eight types of waste because they are the targets of your Lean arsenal. You really should know what you’re shooting at before you start shooting!
Also in this chapter, we’ll briefly introduce the main ways you’ll want to attack waste in your organization. Call them techniques for taking out the garbage. This is where you’ll be introduced to many of Lean’s family members: the siblings of Pull, Flow, Mistake Proofing, and others.
