Anything that doesn’t look 100 percent positive is likely to trigger an objection. Again, there is little excuse for letting yourself get ambushed by one of these situations.
There’s a Hole in Your Resumé
For most employers, the ideal candidate is one whose career shows continuous employment and an uninterrupted upward trajectory. If there’s a hole in your resumé, you’d better be ready to account for it.
Unless the gaps in your employment history correspond with a coma, you did do something with that time. Talk about your volunteer work, study, special training, travel, freelance employment, consultant work. Express in the most productive terms possible whatever you did during those gap periods.
