While women have a greater range of interview dressing options than men, they are also under greater economic pressure to invest in current fashions. A man can wear a three-year-old suit without raising any eyebrows—provided, of course, the suit is in impeccable condition—but a woman’s interview attire must be more current. This is, without doubt, a blatant double standard. It’s also simply the way things are in most business environments.
