The best advice we can give you is to build your resumé off the posting for the job you are applying for. Creating a general resumé may help you to gather your thoughts on paper, but it is less likely to get you an interview than if you create a resumé tailored to the job you want.

Don’t write about everything you’ve ever done—include only what is relevant to the job for which you are applying. Use the majority of your resumé to feature your relevant skills and experience. If you have had additional work experience that you’d like to include, do so very briefly.
