Getting Your Foot in the Door
There are opportunities for students in virtually every agency and occupational area. Considering there are roughly 2 million federal employees (not counting the military or the Postal Service), the hunt for new employees never ends, and student programs are one way that agencies can find new talent to fill positions. Translation: After you have successfully gotten and completed your internship, you may have an advantage in obtaining a full-time government job.
