Where to Find State Government Jobs

Each state has its own website where you can find and apply for jobs. For a full listing of state government job sites, see Appendix E. Another great resource is the National Association of State Personnel Executives (NASPE.net), which has links to state government job openings.
Although the websites are the best place to go for a full listing of jobs, most states also host career fairs. States frequently advertise these job fairs on the state government website, through media press releases, and in public service announcements on local radio programs. They may also do some advertising in newspapers, magazines, and elsewhere for critical needs positions, such as engineers and health care professionals.
