How to Handle Difficult Employees

Difficult employees come in many flavors, but the manner in which you handle them should be pretty standard. Of course you’ll need to handle each employee a little differently, depending on each one’s personality and temperament, but basically, there’s a formula to working with problem employees. You’ll recognize some of these steps from the FEW method introduced in Chapter 9. The FEW method advises that you state the facts regarding the performance problem, share the effects the performance problem has caused, and ask why the problem has occurred.
