The last option for paying for a lawyer’s services is not to pay at all. Not skipping out on your bill, but getting an agreement up front that the lawyer will not charge at all for her services. This is a form of public service, formally known as pro bono publico, which in Latin means “for the public good.” It’s also a form of charity.
