What Do You Really Want to Achieve?
It should be easy to say what you want to achieve with a lawsuit: you want to solve the problem that brought you to court in the first place. In reality, that’s often not the only goal you have in going to court. You may see yourself as a champion of justice. You may want to get back at the jerk who put you in this lousy position. You may see this as a way to make some money.
Lawsuits take up a great deal of time, money, and energy; the more honest you are about your goals in bringing a lawsuit, the better able you’ll be to make a decision about how and when to end it.
